“You do not have because you do not ask God.” Jas. 4:2 NIV
The Bible in the Book of James mentions the most common problems in prayer: not asking, asking for the wrong things, asking for the wrong reasons, or just the plain failure to keep praying about it.
“You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your lust goes unfulfilled; so you murder. You are envious and cannot obtain [the object of your envy]; so you fight and battle. You do not have because you do not ask [it of God]. You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires.“
Do you talk to God at all? and when you do it is to ask for something. Do you ask to satisfy your own desires? Do you seek God’s approval for what you already plan to do? Your prayers will become powerful when you allow God to change your desires so that they perfectly correspond to His will for you (1 John 3:21, 22).
Trust and believe in God for all things. If your request is His Will for you, He will bless you. God knows what we need even before we ask of Him. Never fail to forget the goodness of God and His mercies toward those who trust and believe in Him.
Don’t give up or give in, keep praying about it and the LORD will answer one way or another.
Blessings,
