GOD’S SECURITY Psalm 91

God is a shelter, a refuge when we are afraid. This should be a picture of our trust. We trade all our fears for faith in Him, no matter how intense our fears are.

To do this, we must “dwell” and “rest” with Him. We entrust ourselves to His protection. We pledge our daily devotion to Him. In doing so, we will be kept safe beneath His wings.

The most important part of a believer’s life is the part that only God sees. This is the “hidden life” of communion and worship, symbolized by the Most Holy Place. God is our refuge and strength, our joy in the time of sorrow.

In the 4th verse, He informs us. It is just as a mother hen hides her chicks under her wings in times of danger. In the same way, our Heavenly Father shall shelter us in times of storms.

When we dwell in the secret place of the Most High, we are not alone, for God is with us. He promised He would never leave us nor forsake us, and He compensates for our inadequacies. Thus, we need not be afraid of the “terror by night”.

Remember this: the word “fear” stands for “false evidence appearing real.” We must put our trust in God. Knowing that our God watches over us even in times of great stress provides comfort beyond measure.
