A Letter From a Friend

Summary

You know how folks on street corners stationed themselves to push their handouts? Some of these flyers or cards announce upcoming events such as new store openings or musical groups that are coming to your town. And some even present you with free tickets just to get you to attend a listening party. Well, the person I crossed paths with was not standing on a street corner. I was out walking and as he passed by me, he said; “here you go,” pressed a card into my hand and kept it moving. I don’t even recall what the man looked like. I took the card quickly scanned it and dropped it into my bag. Here it is much time later and that I happened upon this same card today, and seen that it was not a card after all…

STILL STUCK!

Summary

From my Spoken Word series “STILL STUCK”! falls in line with “Everyone Has One,” the difference is this person loves bringing up your past (her)story every chance they get. She was what you thought a friend; or maybe he is an old love that has yet to move on. Whatever, years have passed, and lives have changed yet they are still right where you left them in your past seemingly stuck there. Their pass-time is your (her)story and sharing it with others. He/She/They are your news carriers of all the stuff you used to do – nothing about the good of today is ever up for replay.  Repent! Thankfully, our God holds no record of our wrongs. Enjoy with a smile or maybe not, “Still Stuck”!

My Worth

Summary

In this episode of A Spoken Word you the listener will hear that there are always two sides to every story. And know this, let him without sin be the first to cast a stone.

“John 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery, and when they had set her in the midst, they said unto him, Master this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act…”

The Power of the Tongue!

Summary

The Power of the Tongue was A Spoken Word episode presented at the stage play, A Mother’s Sorrow. Picture this, your first time visiting a new church and you are greeted by none other than the non-gossiping Sister Sue Watkins, wife of Deacon Leroy Mason George Watkins. Sister Watkins, on this day is the church greeter and in her welcoming you to the church she provides you with more than just a handshake and a welcome!

SALT!

Summary

A Spoken Word of one missing out on the chance of an ever-lasting life, all because of her thirst for the life of this present world. A chance to escape to a life of joy only now captured in a pillar of salt forever frozen in time. SALT, Lot’s wife reminds us there is away of escaping if we keep our blinders on and our face forward and stay upon the path that Jesus laid before us.

Everyone has at least One!

Summary

The Skit ‘Everyone Has One’, was first performed as one of the opening sketches for the stage play ‘A Mother’s Sorrow,’ written and placed into production September 2017. Although slightly humorous, we all seem to have one of those friends that is slightly above the rest.

The Battle is Not Yours!

Summary

Know this, ‘the battle is not yours, it belongs to the Lord.’ The message text is from the Book of Judges, chapters 6 & 7. This is a message to let you know that you never have to walk alone for God is with you and if God, your Savior is with you He is more than the whole world against you.

This is a message I’ve used many times in my ministry and walk with the Lord. Every time it has been presented God provided a different insight into the meaning of, “I will never leave nor forsake you”. All we have to do is trust, have faith, and believe!

Enjoy!
